Even though hospitalizations for chronic conditions unrelated to the virus decreased, the pandemic has generated a chronic health emergency. It has increased burdens on the U.S. healthcare system relating to chronic disease management. Currently, health professionals in the U.S. are not only faced with the burden of chronic diseases unrelated to COVID-19 but also need to manage chronic conditions brought by the virus.
